Stop Chasing and Analyzing Trauma.

The unresolved emotional energy behind things like anxiety and PTSD isn't stored in neat little packages.

I was asked, on an instagram video, what questions one should ask themselves when they're getting triggered in order to find the source of their pain, and how to purge the source of the pain once they find it.

Look...

You're looking in the wrong direction. Who cares what the 'source' is? If I were to expain to you precisely what trauma from the past is causing your trigger, would that change anything for you right now?

And... even if you found the 'source' from the past... how do you purge something from the past? You can't! It's not the past that needs to be purged. It's the emotional energy that's still stuck in you right now! And that energy is presenting itself to you AS the uncomfortable emotion that you're feeling.

That emotional discomfort IS your past trauma, standing to your right, saying "Please look at me! Please look at me!". And you keep going, "Hmmm.... I wonder what's over here on the left?"

You're distracting yourself from the real healing by looking for 'the source'. The source doesn't matter. The pain in the moment matters, and that's very simply what the purging process feels like. Stop running from it. Stop chasing logical answers. Learn how to put your thoughts aside and actually PURGE.

Don't analyze. Don't trauma hunt. Don't try to logic your pain away. Stop asking questions and learn to FEEL!

Imagine that you were hit in the leg with a baseball and now your leg is hurting. Where should you turn your attention in order to heal the wound? Should you look at your leg? Or should you dissect the baseball?

Dissecting the baseball (the source of the pain) isn't going to do you any good. Look at the wound!

Now, imagine that your leg is hurting because you got hit by a baseball 10 years ago and never let it heal... And now you're going back into the field trying to find that fucking baseball hoping that once you find it, you can dissect it... and once you dissect it the pain will go away.

Fuck the baseball.

Look at your leg.
