Emotional Healing is an Art.

All of the logic in the world won't solve the problem until we learn this...

I’ve been saying for years that emotional healing is NOT an intellectual activity.

Sure, our minds need to be involved in some way. There are some things we need to understand so that we can escape certain cycles and start putting into practice the skills we’ll need to master in order to achieve inner peace and self-love.

But the mind alone absolutely cannot get us there. And the mind would do much better to take a back seat to the real art going on here.

Emotional healing is an art that requires practice, not analysis.

Let’s look at it this way…

If you were never to set foot in a pool, how many books on swimming would you need to read before you became a master swimmer?

I’m fairly certain we can all agree that the answer is ‘infinity’. Or, more appropriately, that no amount of reading about swimming will ever make you a master swimmer until you get into the pool and start practicing what you’ve been learning.

Your conscious mind - with all of its logic, rationality and understanding - cannot develop the muscle memory that you’ll need and can’t get used to the feeling of being suspended by the water and moving through it. All of that can only be properly obtained by experience.

Emotional healing works the exact same way. You can’t logic your way to inner-peace by analyzing and coming to understand all of your past trauma.

Instead, you need to learn how to handle the various elements of your inner experience and start putting them into practice, getting better and better at using them as you go.

You’ll need to learn and practice relaxing your nervous system. You’ll need to practice - over and over again - catching your negative, cycling thoughts and implementing a healthy way to navigate away from them. You’ll need to get used to being in a low emotional state without letting that fool you into thinking there’s a problem.

These are all skills that can only be mastered through practice.

You’ll need to learn the right skills and tools to apply in these situations first (and that is where the mind will come into play a bit), but after that, it’s a muscle, a skill, and an art that must be mastered and internalized well beyond the conscious workings of your logical mind.

If you’re ready to learn the skills and put in the practice you’ll need to master yourself and your emotions once and for all so that you can live the rest of your life with inner peace and self love, reach out… I’m here to help.

Best and love,

Benjy
